5th gen jerry can options

Hi, I'm looking for different options to carry a few (4-5) jerry cans of gas and water, either by strapping them to a roof rack or by using a hitch mount, for use on long beach camping/fishing trips.

What's your preferred method to carry jerry cans on your 5th gen?

1. get BajaRack
2. strap a ton of stuff to it
3. ???

you can see a single can here in the back, just used a ratchet strap.

I bought one of these, but I'm still working on how to attach it to the BajaRack.

Funny, in another thread I was trying to figure out if the Rocky Road Outfitters roof rack system can hold 300 lbs when bolted to the factory rails, it seems to me that's what they are implying. At any rate, I saw they sell a water / fuel can accessory for the rack, along with some other cool stuff. Another option I guess.

Each Aug a 20 cf cargo box gets put on my roof rack (dog kennels in the load bed) and I leave for my 4 mo hunting trip. Since my prior vehicle's sat antenna was mounted over the windshield there was no interference with reception. Just took delivery on the '11 Trail I ordered a few mos. back and am wondering about the rear mounted shark fin. Will I be able to listen to XM or should I stock up on books on C D?

P S : will be swapping the OE Bridgestones for Revo 2's since once the 1500 mile drive to get there is over the rest of the time is crawling thru the hills on the ranch. Why would Toyota put highway tires on this vehicle? Is the market for the Trail mostly cross-over pretenders rather than hairy chested off-road types?
