5th Gen Lift Suggestions

I'm the lazy suspension guy... I just ordered an Icon Stage 6 with all the parts that [MENTION=80984]LT[/MENTION] and [MENTION=68685]Ducmonsta[/MENTION] told me I would need for my application. [MENTION=8206]harper7[/MENTION] did everything himself, so he would be able to give a better perspective. I'm not a fan of spacers as they lift the truck by preloading the suspension. I'd rather have my suspension run as designed.

I like doing as much as I can myself, but I don't have the time/tools/space to do the suspension install myself. When it becomes a check-book function, you might as well do it right the first time; hence the Stage 6 that was sourced from MetalTech 4x4 and is being installed by High Tech Truck and Auto.

What was the suggested set-up? I'm so new to lifts that I was nervous to spend a lot of money on something I wouldn't like.

Maybe you can answer this question... If I later decide to go with Bilstein 5100s and set the front at 2.5. Would 1.5" inch springs on the rear be enough, or would you do front springs and UCAs as well? I would like the stiffer suspension that every claims comes with the Bilsteins, but don't have any extra weight added nor plan to. Thanks

no. the difference between those two tire sizes will make the truck sit more like ~1/2" higher.

if you look at a tire, only half of the increased diameter is below the hub/axle.....

I did my lift entirely by myself with a bit of help from my 11 year old son... Put 5100's on the front with Toytec springs and a small spacer. On the rear just did the Toytec springs. Have about a 3" leveled lift. Went to local shop and had alignment done, no problem and it seems to be "sticking" because I had it checked when tires were rotated. Did not touch diff. Toughest part was re-installing the front coils after re-assembly... Had the 11 year old help spread the LCA and UCA apart to get it back in. Oh, changing the bolts in the top cap of the strut towers was a bit difficult but did it with a bench press and hammer ok. Did the whole thing in about 6 hours going slow to be sure everything done correctly. Have now taken off road for some serious rock crawling and off-camber stuff with no issues.
