Hi Everyone,
First post, very longtime lurker (and i mean 5+ years). I seem to have always found what I was looking for before but I have a fairly specific question.
I currently have a 2017 Limited. It has 32' KO2's on trail rims, running boards removed, rest is completely stock. I'm getting into some mild off-roading with the local club and also head out on the weekend with my son. The vehicle is a beast and i love it but im finding often my approach and departure angles are a bit lacking, ive been scraping the front and the rear a lot even going extremely slowly and with a spotter over obstacles.
I drive my rig as a daily and I drive a decent amount. If i do a suspension lift I want equal if not better on-road performance that is offered up by my XREAS. I have priced it out at our local shop here in Vancouver and anything that will achieve that feel is currently around 5-6k installed (lovely Canadian prices for you). I also don't really love the idea of ripping out my brand new suspension which is performing quite well at this point and replacing it with something that is quite harsh (whats the point i spent most of my time on pavement). Fuel consumption is another aspect, its 1.50 per litre up here right now and not getting any cheaper so 3 inch lift and bigger tires id like to avoid in the near future.
My question is what, other then a suspension lift are my best options to improve approach and departure angles? Is it just bumper replacements or is there something else I'm missing? Id like to leave the bumpers as stock as possible for the time being. Although i do really like the Aluminum Pelfreybilt.
