5th gen mud flaps.

2016 though

The crap thing is, I've a 2016 LE with running boards (not automatic) and everywhere I see it says mudflaps won't fit. Wtf? Should I just get a set and try ? Hate to waste 75 bucks for that crap though. Any ideas?

on my 2016 runner in 2016 I dumped the toyota mud guards on the front fenders. reason is to short and I know in the ice/snow they will break off.

I installed fiberglass re enforced mud guards. these are wider and longer. so I rarely get any crap on the side of vehicle.

how I did this was I used a piece of cardboard . used this as a pattern .. cut and set it up to my liking

set over the new mud guards cut and drill out the holes . fit perfect ..

the other issue I had these as we know , have sloppy inner fender plastic shields .. these are held in place by non s/steel screws in the plastic retainers .. so I fabricated these so I can remove these inner fender plastic crap to inspect and also clean up and de icing mess..
the s/steel screws in the new plastic retainers hold the shields rock solid so no noise and flopping around..
I also put brush on fiberglass re enforced rust proofing black ..
mud guard look like new.. the rear OEM toyota I will do the rears latter this year. rears are too rigid..
