Well everyone just got back from Toyota to see if they would cover a bent rear passenger side axle shaft under my platinum warranty and that ended up getting denied... So now I will be taking matters into my own garage. I just basically need the specs of the shaft if anyone has it.
I'm almost positive that it's 31.2" in length and a 30 spline for Toyota 8" and 8.2" diff but just want to make sure before ordering it. I don't want to pull it out first mostly because my wife needs it to get the kids to school everyday so I need the parts before I pull it apart.
Please let me know if I'm correct-
Yukon chromoly axle shaft(part #YA WT60240) 03&up 4runner/07-14 FJ
Nitro chromoly axle shaft(part #AXT60240) 03-09 4runner/07-14FJ
My main issue is that the years on different websites don't match each other with the 4runner years. Toyota also couldn't give the specs on the axle for me only part numbers. I planned on trying to keep my cost down since Toyota wouldn't cover this(plus their axle cost 700+ and they quoted me 2,300for it to be done) I figured I could just buy a "stronger" aftermarket one and get it done within a couple hours.
Any info on the specs of the axle shaft or the capability of the shaft with FJ/Lexus GX460&470 let me know so I can get this thing fixed asap. Also mods please move if there is a better place for this thread!!! thanks
