5th Gen Wet Okole Discussion & Picture Thread

Don't think that will be necessary. Do yourself a favor and raise the driver seat all the way, makes it a bit easier on that side.

Enjoy. Mine are still looking great after almost 2 years with occasional damp rag wipedown.

Wet Okole is local for me, and I was fortunate enough to have worked with one of the Wet Okole installers when Circuit City was still in business here in Hawaii.

Since I go to the beach every weekend and take my dogs with me for our sunday drive to buy the newspaper, really needed quality and sharp looking seat covers.

I got front and back seat covers for my 2011 Tacoma when I bought it in Nov 2011. My friend at Wet Okole included the zipper pockets behind the front seats and covering for the center console for free, along with TRD logo on the seatcovers.

I just brought in my 2012 4R this past saturday to have them measure for front and back seat covers. I ordered black with black piping and Toyota logo. Same as last deal with Tacoma, they will include zipper pockets and center console for free. The bonus this time around is matching steering wheel cover.

The 4R order won't be filled until end of Jan/beginning of Feb, so I'll post pics then.

Do you know if offer a set for the 3rd row seats as well?

hey fly navy, now that you've had your seat covers for awhile, do you still love em, like em, they are ok, etc. . .? I gotta figure out an option for the front seats and my dogs...we now have 3 and are acquiring the 4th in Feb. I gotta try to keep my front seats from being piddled and doghaired and nailed.

I'm not sure since I don't have 3rd row seating. However, I'm confident that Wet Okole can make covers for them.

Looking for install advice. Have the fronts at home, the back seats will be here in a few weeks. When doing the butt part of the seat are you guys removing the plastic trim that wraps the seat like where the seat controls are or what? Looks rather hard to get you hand in between the seat and the plastic to get the straps down and around. Any advice/tips you guys have would be much appreciated. Thanks!!!

I didn't take anything off or out--back seats went a lot easier and quicker than the front did. You can probably use something else but I bought the shampoo from them. First test on the install--cut the snot out of myself doing the front seats and the blood cleaned right up. Dog slobbers and eats (on the back seat. he won't ride in the rear)--they clean up like new. No sign of wear and he's a 100 pounder with BIG paws

yea we flop the back seat down for em, but our lab, if you get out of the truck long enough, will move his mopey, runny nosed butt up and sit in either the drivers or passengers seat. I've got the canvasback liners for the back of the seats, but it doesnt help when he snots on the front edge of the bottom cuz he lays his head on it.

How hard is it to install and uninstall the wet okes on a 5th gen 4runner? I got my 4runner with leather because I have to play dress up for work and wool trousers slide way easier over leather.

On the weekends, I'm pretty rough on the seats between fishing, hunting, and yard work. I'd like to throw the seat covers on friday night and take them off before work on monday. Is that realistic, or will it be too much of a pain in the a** to keep swapping them?

Too much of a pain to install and uninstall with any frequency.

Agreed; it's takes some work especially to attache the straps under the driver & passenger seats.

I put mine on two weeks ago. Love em' and installation wasn't hard at all. Like everyone else said, you have to do some mashing and pulling to get behind the plastic on the front seats, but it's pretty simple.
I just called Wet Okole with my vehicle info instead of going through the website and picking everything myself. Had them shipped, then threw them on. The only thing I wish I would have done is hung them in the garage to let them air out for a few days because they have a funky chemical smell that hasn't gone away yet.

good to know that taking them on/off won't be practical. guess it'll just be throwing beach towels over my seats for weekend fun - too bad too, because those wet okoles are NICE!

Got my Wet Okole for the rear seat installed yesterday on my Limited.

I was pretty taken back at the cost on these things when I finally took the plunge and ordered. But with all of the great feedback on this forum about Wet Okole covers I figured I would go for it...

Well these things are nothing short of amazing. The fit, construction, and quality are simply fantastic. It probably took me 45 minutes to get them on the first time but I don't anticipate having to remove them much. (Of course future removal and re-installs will go much faster after doing it once and getting things dialed.)

I got these for hauling young kids to protect the leather seats. If I had dogs or hit the beach a lot, I would still get these and throw a blanket over the cover when necessary for easy washing.

Time will tell but I am pretty much convinced these Wet Okole seat covers are the bomb worth every penny! :cheers:

Have had wet okoles installed on my 2nd gen for almost 2 years now. They still look new! They are a bit pricey but I think they are worth the money. Most people that get in my truck think they are new seats and not covers.

How do the Wet Okole's feel in the temperature extremes? I'll see both 100+ and below zero temps.
