5th Gen's need for UCA's

Have many of you guys absolutely needed to get better UCA's for the same lift with your 4th Gen? I have not had one single problem in over 2 years with mine. Is this a common problem with the new 5th Gen or is it just people regurgitating what they hear other people saying and claiming it as fact?

I'm not quite sure what you're asking, it's a bit ambiguous...

Are you asking how many 5th gen owners need new UCAs to get 4th-gen lift heights that don't require new UCAs (i.e., 2-3")? If so, try asking in the 5th gen section; you're in the 4th, you might get a better response there.

I've heard nothing comparing 4th and 5th gen max lift heights and need for upgrading UCAs, but I've never gone digging for that info either.
Sorry I can't help more, but I really don't understand your question.

Yeah sorry I forgot to say 3" of suspension lift. It seems like a lot of threads I see people are saying if you get 3" of suspension lift on your 5th Gen it's absolutely necessary to get aftermarket UCA's. Is this really true or is this something that one person said and now everybody believes it. Perfect example is a CAI giving you more HP.

Need them for what? If your goal is getting your alignment to a certain spec then yes. If you're ok with only a degree or two of caster then no, you don't need them. If you have ET coilovers, then yea you'll need them to take advantage of the added droop.

That's the answer I was looking for.

The question was aimed at 4th Gen owners who may have bought a 5th Gen or have mechanical experience with both because most new Toyota owners who buy a 5th Gen will instantly go out and buy Fox or ICON coilovers and new UCA's because they read somewhere that's the necessary thing to do.

I didn't have them on my 4th gen but once I had it aligned post-lift, I wasn't happy with the way it drove. With my 5th, I decided to go all in and got the UCAs. I'm happy with the way it drives and handles offroad. Were they expensive, yes. Was it worth it? To me, yes.
