well the other 5vz I have sitting to the side does not have it all. it's just not there. I honestly don't ever remember seeing it.

I need to figure it out because this is a re-man from yotashop I'm installing. so I guess I will call them tomorrow and feel dumb and have to ask? like do I just put a cork in there or what?

and sand blasted the easy stuff myself and rattle canned it

it's going to look brand new until I spill something all over it, but it will look sexy for 10 mins so it's worth it.

It’s a reman from yotashop, so there must be some sort of plug then, because the engine mount goes right over it. I cant see how a dipstick would go through the engine mount.

Jdm engines must have very different mounts.

It's a plug. The earlier blocks had two locations. I can't remember if it was 2WD vs 4WD, or exactly what it was. When doing a solid axle on a 5VZ, lots of guys use T100 pans, because the front has more clearance. When using the T100 pan, I think you use the more rearward location for the dipstick.
I had to swap it on my engine when I did the 3.4 in my '92 4R. It's been 10 years ago now, so that's all a little fuzzy.

The T100 and the earlier and 5 lug V6 tacomas used a rear sump pan with the dipstick in that location. for the 6 lug tacos and 4runners that got plugged and the dipstick goes through the oil pump.

PLUG, HOLE

Yotashop apparently does not read their own orders when you tell them you have a 2000 4runner. Instead they just give everybody 2 dipstick holes.

I was able to get it out so now again the story of my life. Waiting on parts.

In case anyone hasnt answered it yet.... It's the JDM dipstick location. If you are doing a 3.4 swap in to a 2nd gen you have to punch a hole their so that you can clear the oil pan.
