6 1/2 speakers in the 6 3/4 space

Anyone know of some good ways I can get my 6 1/2 speakers to fit more securely in the 6 3/4 space openeing in my 99 4runner?

Well, I never did any speaker swap in my 96 or my 04 4Runner (yet... :biggrin2: ), but in my old 94 Accord I took out the old plastic speaker support and traced it on some MDF. Then I cut that out with a jig saw and mounted the new speaker to it. Slapped it into the hole and checked to see if I needed to adjust the door panel a bit.

Fabbing up an adapter with MDF doesn't seem like it would be too hard because the size difference isn't that great.

But here's I an adapter I came across, that may be what you need. Haven't dealt with the store, nor have I actually used the adapter. But in any case here it is

Thanks PGH ... I just ordered adapters for the front and rear speakers. I got both for 14 bucks, which includes shipping.

I'll try and remember to take some pics.
