6" lift Kit for Gen4 4runner

Hey T4R Peeps.

Looking into the availability of a drop bracket lift kit for our Gen4rnr's

I understand that we share the same suspension with the FJ cruiser.

If that is true, then the Fab Tech 6" lift kit should be a bolt on for our 4runners.

Rough Country , ProComp and FabTech are the current players..

I emailed Fab Tech to see what they say. Does any one else know if this would work.

I would love to do that kit!! I wanted it bad on my FJ and now I want it bad for my Runner, But it requires fender modification and has some considerable expense along with it!

Longer CV Axels, Coilover Shocks, New Fiberglass Fender, and then you gota beef up the rear to get it on par with the front in terms of lift and travel.

Ok I got a definitive answer back from Rough Country.

They had tried to retro fit the lift kit for the FJC to the 4 Runner. Our 4 Runners have bigger Differentials in the front (8 inches instead of the standard) as well as different front suspension cradles. Slight changes for the V6, major changes for the V8 models.

All thought the A Arms, Shocks, and upper control arms are shared between the FJC and the 4 Runner. The rest of it is different.

Solution.....

3" Lift with 1.5" body lift and new front bumper to fit 33's with no rubbing and maintain correct bumper height with rest of the body.

Shrockfront bumpers offer changed brackets for body lifts too! This is the real answer to getting a little more lift from our 4 runners.

There's a reason most of us just run coilovers. Do a search on ICON and Donahoe Racing (same thing). I highly recommend them. Also read the suspension FAQ for info on the others like King, Sway-a-way, etc.

My Icons ride better than stock.

I had Icon's on my FJC and it was a world better than stock was.. im trying to find a place that will discount them to me right now. They are a bit to expensive for me right now.

FYI - I've been very pleased with my SAWs and there much cheaper than ICON.
