I'm really hung up on the massive jump in price from SR5 4WD to Offroad 4WD. About $6k. It was a $2k jump on a 2024. I get that Offroads now get 33" tires on 18" wheels, and it appears SR5 stays on 32" tires and 17" wheels, but still.
At these prices, I would either go SR5 4WD, or straight to a Land Cruiser 250. And here I was thinking I was crazy for paying $46,000 new plus $400 in factory options for a 2023 Offroad Premium....

2025 4Runner builder is up on Toyota USA's website. Which also means the detailed spec comparisons are, too.
Too expensive for my taste. Although this is more of an indicator of how American purchasing power has gone down than it has of new vehicle prices.
New vehicles are actually cheaper today than 20 years ago when accounting for inflation. It's really that core costs like housing, education, etc have rapidly outpaced wages where it feels like cars are suddenly so out of reach.

This. I can afford it, but it is really starting to feel like the cost benefit ratio is getting too high to justify driving this kind of vehicle. I'm probably going to miss having a vehicle that I can just rampage off road or camp in... but I have mountain bikes and I camped in a tent for years prior to camping in my 4Runner. I had already decided to give "not having a 4Runner" a try with my next company car because I didn't want another 5th gen, but I pretty much expected to be in another 4Runner after this cycle was up. I guess we'll see.
I paid US$30k out the door for my new 4.7V8 2003 4Runner SR5 in 2003. It's $51k in today's's dollars. So, it's still the same price for a 2025 SR5. I'm still driving my 03. 190k miles now. Thinking of getting a 2025 for the tech and more safeties.

Glad I bought my 2024 TRD ORP W/KDSS end of March, just hit 5K mi, I'm retired so only drive about 7K mi a year, this 4R will last me a long time !
It's my 4th 4R and the best one yet ! Love the LED lights, heated steering wheel and five cameras with blind spot detection and updated radio.

Agree with the heated steering wheel, 2023+ premium trim club is lovely for that reason alone. LEDs are nice, and I'm particularly a fan of the blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. A good balance of new and old.

Just curious, what tech do you feel you need? I have an '03 V8 limited and it has all the tech I want/need.
I was thinking of the TrailHunter so it has side airbags, 360 camera, crawl control, MTS, radar Cruise, electronics SDM, digital dash gauges that are configurable, 14" center display etc... that my 03 SR5 doesn't have. Also, it comes with factory 33" tires that 34 or 35 will fit without lift (hearsay).

That said, most of that is true with the far cheaper Offroad and Offroad premium. OEM 33's on all Offroad trims.
Pretty lame that you seem to need to get the trailhunter or try pro to get the sway bar disconnect. Should be a stand alone option on the off road at least.

I expect my 2024 TRD OFF ROAD to hold it value quite well, I only drive about 5,000 miles per year, so for me the value should hold and how long I keep it should work out for me either way. My biggest decision at this time is do I want a 4-cylinder turbo or not. I do like the looks of the new 2025 4 Runner as well as the 2024 Land Cruiser. Nice to have choices.

Indeed. Maybe that's a mistake on the builder.
You know what's weird? You CAN standalone option the swaybar disconnect on TRD Offroad Tacomas, for $1,230. It'd be lame to not give 4Runner the same freedom.
It's available on the regular Land Cruiser trim, but not the cheaper 1958 trim. Would be nice if they allowed it.
