6x12 enclosed towing?

Can my 4runner take it? Thinking about buying two quads and need a trailer to tow them with. I currently tow my 2 seadoos without problems but never something this big.

I do have the Tundra 231mm.

I would think it would be no problem, I tow my 19 foot MasterCraft boat and have towed my 18 foot enclosed trailer with no issues. Just keep it out of overdrive and get your brake controller set up if the trailer has brakes

Ive towed 6X12 Uhauls several times between Tejas and Colorado, packed to the gills. You should be fine. Issues arise when you over load the cargo bay which is rated for 500lbs max. I blew my third member hauling a ton of cement landscaping block... don't to that!:fro:

Lol that is funny! Thanks guys. And it doesn't have brakes I guess I should look at how much it will cost to install a braking system.

However, I might have to sell because the 4runner can hardly stay at 60-70 mph on the highway. Might have to trade up to a V8 4th Gen.

There is another way. A SC and 7th injector kit would probably cost less than what you would probably have to pay to trade up to a 4th Gen V8.

I towed my current 4Runner (Tyrone) on a dolly from VA to PA with my other 4Runner. You'll be fine. Just take your time stopping and it takes forever to accelerate.

Supercharger route I'm thinking about. Still debating. I had my foot to the floor driving about one hundred miles one way. Didn't like it much. The trailer stops no problem it's maintaining speed is the problem.

If you are towing that trailer more than 5x a month, get the V8, as much as I hate saying such. It won't be lacking in power.

I have a 6x12 that I tow with the runner. I've done a few short trips not on hwy no problem. I did one long trip from FL to TX with 3,000 lbs in the trailer. Like you said, I was barely able to keep 60 to 70. Then I got a 2nd gen SC with all the goodies. No doubt its better, but it isn't as good as I thought it was going to be. The upside, it doesn't downshift and upshift as much. It still struggles a bit, but its better than it was before. IMHO, its not worth it. Don't get me wrong, I love my 4runner but I advise you to trade up rather than sink the money into a SC. If you do it right you'll be into it $3-4K. Thats if you buy a used supercharger, do the valve cover gaskets, timing belt ect, plus fuel upgrades, and trans upgrade.
