7.5 q. oil into my '07 V8 - OK?

Did the first oil change last night. I'm kind of surprised/worried that it took 7.5 quarts of oil.

I had a hard time checking the level - due to the clearness of the oil. So, I used a small jeweler's' file and scored the surface to get a better read on the level. I'm 98% sure I'm just at the high mark.

Has anyone else had to use that much oil?

Which filter are you using? A slightly bigger filter would explain the difference.

Even with the OEM filter, it will take 7 quarts with no problem, despite the manual saying 6.5.

Factory filter. Looked identical to the one I took off, except made in Taiwan vs. Japan.

If I'm within .5 q., I probably won't worry about it.
