82 Cutom Cab Stolen

I know this isn't a 4Runner but it's still an awesome old school yota truck and I figured the guys on this forum have an eye out for these old school trucks and might just spot my buddies truck. My buddy Chad had a beautiful 1982 Toyota 4x4 Custom Cab. It was amazingly clean and loved. Had a 3" OME lift. It was stolen a few nights back from his work parking lot. I told him I would do anything I could to help him get it back. That is the reason for the thread. I figured more eyes looking for it couldn't hurt. He isn't a wealthy guy by any means but loves his truck and badly wants it back. He has $500 cash he has pulled together for anyone giving him a lead that gets him to his truck. PLEASE don't do anything that would get you in harms way by checking out the stolen truck. If you see something that looks similar then pm me with some pics and I will pass them on to Chad and I'm sure he will contact you asap. It's a bright yellow and a super rare model, so i'm really doubtful there are many others out there like it. It was stolen in Loma Linda, CA but could be anywhere by now. Here's what it looks like.

That is a fabco truck dude!!! Those are super super rare!!! I feel sorry for the guy who stole I know if it was mine that guy would be taking a dirt nap by now.

It's really depressing that it's gone. It was SUPER hard for him to find that one. It was in almost new condition. One owner and garaged it's entire life with super low miles. I was surprised he had no alarm of any kind on it.
 
Keep an eye on Craigslist and make sure all scrapyards and used auto parts junkyards within 500 miles get a poster of that truck with stolen written on it.
 
free bump to the top. I hope somehow someway he gets it back. The mere thought of losing one of my yotas makes me sick to my stomach. They're almost like children...
 
So for an update. No luck. I put some ads up on craigslist for a cash reward for finding the truck. Lots of people contacted me saying they knew where the truck was and if I sent them the money they would let me know where to find it. I had to call BS on all of those. Nobody could actually muster up any actual proof of the truck being near them. It's shocking how shady folks are on craigslist.

Good news!!! It was found. Bad news; not a complete truck anymore.
Truck was recovered yesterday about 2 blocks from where it was stolen. Idiot thieves had it in their driveway and were stripping it down. Neighbor thought something was fishy so he called the police. Most of the parts of the truck were either in his driveway, garage, or backyard but it's going to take 100's of man hours to put the truck back together. Axles, all accessories, entire front clip, grill, lights, battery, alternator, master cylinder, wheels, shocks, springs, rims, radiator, tcase, power steering pump, and a LOT more have been removed. All hard and soft lines were just cut off. Interior seats are also gone. It's depressing as hell. I went over and looked at it at the tow yard before they hauled it over to his house. He has boxes of parts and a truck bed full of parts. Looks like a pack of wolves on a kill. Not much left. I snaped a few pics. Here's one. Sorry about the crappy pics. I will try to get better pics when I head back over and start helping him figure out what parts are missing so we can get them ordered.
 
Hopefully your buddy has friends who will put a few slugs in this douchecanoe's ass!

And only a few blocks away from where they stole it from too? That's just ballzy right there! I swear, if it was me, I'd walk past his house every night with either spray paint or a hammer, and any vehicle in his driveway would get a special detail job from me!

Maybe your buddy should get some yard signs made that say something like this:

Don't know. I drove by the house this afternoon and it had police tape across the door and garage. Front door looked like it had been kicked in and there was a chain and padlock going through a hole cut in the door. I'm assuming the idiots are in jail awaiting trial.
 
I'm glad it was found cuz that's one rare truck. KidV was kind of right in the chopping it up part. I hate thieves they are low scum. I'm surprised my jeep hasn't been stolen since it doesn't lock. The only security system it has is a big sticker saying the owner of this vehicle carrys
