any of you guys have problems with the levers on your HVAC system becoming super stiff? my white 85 pickup had this problem untill one day the cable in behind the dash just ripped off the arm on the heat/cold vent, and it was stuck on heat... FML, anyhow my red truck is becoming stiff now too, and i dont want to brake any of the plastic arms/levers off that are in the dash. so have any of you guys ever had this issue and how did you fix it...? -i dont really want to have to pull the dash to do this, but if thats the only way (i fear it is) to do then so be it. and also what did you guys use to clean and lube the cables and sheaths?

There's plenty of penetrating sprays on the market that will work, from CRC, Gunk, Liquid Wrench, etc.

WD-40 isn't one of them.

Before you go nuts on these lines check the valve in the engine bay its metal and could be rusty I took a plastic one out of a early 90s pick up and it pretty much bolts in.

pb Blast worked well on unfreezing my valve
in the engine cabinet that stupid thing gets all kinds of dirt and grime on it.
