Okay our long winter is over and I am ready to deal with the steering issues on my 1985 4runner. The truck is stock except for an OME lift. The milage on the vehicle is 165,000. Last time I got the truck aligned it was suggested that the steering box was worn to the point that it affected the alignment. Rock auto sells rebuilt boxes anywhere from $160 to $250. Another option is to scrap the OEM push pull box and go to crossover and IFS box. The truck is not used for off roading save for some occasional trails. The largest tire I plan on running is a 33x10.5x15 tire. The truck has OEM chrome steel wheels. Any suggestions? I do plan on keeping the 4runner for the duration if that factors in. I am also able to perform the work myself with either option minus the alignment.
Thanks!
