Got my first 4th Gen today! Couple questions

Snagged a '07 V8 Sport today, 218k on the clock. I live in the rust belt and this truck has lived its entire life in Texas except for a year in Oklahoma so blessedly no rust!! Truck had some nice maintenance covered about 20k ago..

Bilstein 4600 stut and springs,
New Trd Pro 17" rims wrapped in Geolander AT's
Timing belt and water pump
Front axles & wheel bearings
Rear U Joints
Tie rod ends
Diff, Transfer Case, Transmission fluids done
New battery
Brakes and rotors
New headlight housing with upgraded LEDs

She's super solid but not without a few issues..

Driver side leaky steering rack, doesn't seem terrible but the boot has broken down a bit. Can these be rebuilt or am I looking at putting a new rack in?

Lower oil pan is seemingly leaky but haven't fully diagnosed it. Wiped clean today but need to get back under there. Is this a common problem on a higher mileage V8 or should I be looking elsewhere for the culprit?

Sunroof seal isnt great, will probably just seal it shut since it looks like the only way to get the seal is with new glass. Any other options I'm overlooking?

Lastly I'm like 99% sure the seats are aftermarket covers. I have a small wear spot in the driver's bolster. Can anyone help me ID these?

Plan is to daily her and building out my 3rd gen as a trail/camp rig

Congrats on the V8 4Runner! Recently bought one my self that needed similar work.

I also had a leaking steering rack that needed to be replaced. I bought a remanufactured one from the Toyota dealership because it's about half the price of a new one. You want to go OEM with expensive parts like this for longevity. Cry once, buy once.

Was it just the oil pan that was covered in oil? I had to replace my valve cover seals because there was oil that seeped all the way down to the oil pan area. You may want to check around your valve covers because it is a common thing that needs to be replaced about every 150k.

What does the tag say on your passenger side seat next to the seat belt? Clazzio, katzkin, and leatherseats.com are some of the more popular leather seat covers you'll see around here.

Fortunately, a lot of the work is simple enough to do yourself, especially with no rust. These trucks will run for a very long time if you maintain them.

Get an undercoating before it snows!
 
Re-route your AC condenser drain line away from dripping on top of frame on passenger side inside engine compartment. It drips right on top of the frame, runs down to a point under passenger side front door, accumulates and drips on ground, While doing so it causes a major rust area on frame at that point.

I was also looking at the remanned racks. How's yours holding up? Was curious how they were compared to new.

I don't think they are the Clazzios unless they are an older model, the stitching pattern doesn't match up. I'm going to hunt for a tag later.

Just got her yesterday so need to get back underneath and really track down the leak, doesn't seem bad just a little wet. I'll update with some pics later. (Anything but the rear main plz )

100% all ready ordered some Por15 and fluid film. Plan is to hit the outside with the Por15 then give everything a nice coat inside and out of Fluid Film.

Nice looking rig, those seats look nice in black. Normally I would think the tag was one that says airbag. With the rack, verify it's not a leaky line first as that is a common issue but maybe not so much with a Southern car.

As for the frame, after every winter wash out the inside keeping close attention to the lowest parts near the wheel arches. This area collects sand, add some salt to that and you get holes like mine has. I dug out sand that was over an inch thick. If I had a Southern frame, yearly I would run a borescope down all the areas prone to rust and make sure there's no muck in there then oil the inside. I'd probably drill a 1" hole at the bottom of the wheel arches for a cleanout.
 
Welcome to the 4th gen club. I just bought an 04 v8 with a super clean frame, earlier this year. Just an SR5, but that's fine.

Looks like you have new TRD style rims too.
 
Figured I'd throw an update in this thread just because I'm excited to have the undercoating done and ordered myself the Magnaflow Overland Catback as a nice little Christmas present to me. Will be here Friday and hoping to get it in this weekend. Just wish I had got it installed before spraying everything with Fluid Film..

If anyone in the Cincinnati area is looking for a very clean OEM catback hmu, going to try to not cut it out. Only reason I'm replacing is I want a bit more V8 sound.

Hello everyone. I am new to the forum. I found this thread and thought I could ask for some help with my 04 t4r. I bought it 16 years ago and it now has 240k miles on it. I had the dreaded T-case leak for years and it looks like I let it go too long between fluid fill ups. It's done. I bought a replacement from a newer Lexus model and will be swapping it out myself. Does anyone know a repair thread or a really good place to get a factory repair manual. I want to have something I can reference when I start this replacement.

Others have said it in this post, but the black leather looks great! Curious what these would look like with black leather and black carpet. Congrats on the new wheels, you'll love it!

Thanks, really happy with how it turned out. Much less labor intensive prep than a product like Por15. The major downside is FF never dries so A. You have to reapply at least annually and B. It makes wrenching really messy.

There are definitely some write-ups out there but it's pretty straightforward.
