86 22rec header problem

Im trying to put on a Pace Setter ex manifold and it is hitting down by the area where the bell housing and the engine come together .We got it at Summit and they sent another one and its the same way .Any one have this problem before ?? Theres plenty of room between the frame and the collector but they tucked it right up tight against the bell housing .Im wondering if theres a difference in engine heads on the carb model head and the injection one and maybe they have there numbers messed up.Seems like a spacer of about 1/2 inch would move it out enoughto fit . BTW standard transmission 4x4

Are you sure its the right one? ex: 2wd vs 4wd. Got pics of where its hitting?

No pictures yet .Im going to call Pace Setter tomorrow .Im betting there Jig is messed up some how .Summit had a pickup order for the original header so we cant compare them but they look identical .

There going to send us one for a 1990up model today.

BTW ,if we put a 1/2 spacer between the header flange and the head then there is enough room where its hitting to slide a piece of corragated (card Board) through that area .If we had a 1/2 inch header flange then we could space it out .We may still do that if the one for the 1990 doesnt work out .
