89 runner BACK DOOR DASH LIGHT

Searched and didnt find anything.... I need to know how to shut off the "BACK DOOR" dash light.... i took the top off and the tailgate is closed and locked and it wont go off.... worried the dash light will put a draw on the battery,. please help

mine did this to me, replace the blot that held the top, on the drivers side, I think its the 2ed from the back, that will enable the glass to function. roll it up and down, the light should then go off.

Just close the tailgate tight and push the lock down. The light will go out.

Yes, something mechanical might be binding and preventing your tailgate lock from going all the way down.

Therefore, put your "B" bolt back*, cycle the glass up and down, make sure tailgate is closed all the way and try again.
If that doesn't work,
Either, your switch is bad or not adjusted properly, or you have a short to ground. Either way, Door Lock light will not drain battery because it should only come on when IGN is on- unless someone modified your wiring.

Here's the cover top "B" bolt, just forward of the rollbar diagonal member.

*Cover Top bolt or switch does not affect Door Lock or indicator light. However it needs to be on to allow you to cycle the glass.
 
Eureka!!!!!!!

WEll i put the hold bolts not the tie down bolts back in just like in the picture above tapped the rear glass button up twice and BOOM LIGHT IS OFF! thanks for the help replace the bolt circled in the picture and tap the glass button itll go off.... no shorts no pants LMAO :lol:
