90 High Mileage 4Runner ???

I am hoping to join this group soon as the owner of a 90 4Runner. I have not looked at it yet so I was wondering what things I should be concerned about other than typical used car issues. The 4Runner has 211K milles but appears to be in good shape, with body intact and well preserved leather interior. He is asking $2,800 for it but said it may need new tires. So I was planning on offering between $2,100 and $2,500 depending on what I see.

My questions are. I know 211K miles is high but I know Toyotas are good cars if treated well. Is there anything specific about this 4Runner that may be a red flag with these miles. Is there any issues with the 90 4Runner in general that would not make it a desirable vehicle to own?

i own a 90 as well. mine is auto v6, 4x4. just look it over well. if the engine is in good shape and the body is as well, go for it. although 2800 seems high it isnt. if you pass it up let me know, i would buy it. just use your head, hard to go wrong with toyota, alot of the guys on here have way over 200k and are still driving their rigs as daily drivers. one last tidbit, i bought my 4runner on ebay, and flew from louisiana to new jersey to pick it up and drive it back, with 145k on it i had not a single problem. good luck
