pics please!!! i did mine so long ago i didnt even belong to this forum yet. other wise i would post pic. is the 4300k the more stock w/ a hint of blue at start up?? or is that the 6k?

Well did the install last Wednesday and got too excited to take a before pic. I bought the XenonDepot 4300K kit as I didn't want that fake look. I used T4runner06's instructions found here: http://toyota-4runner.org/showthrea...perpage=15&highlight=xenondepot&pagenumber=1.

My Xenon Depot kit will not ship until the first part of March. Seems that they are doing a great business.
I have looked at the issue of color a lot. I believe that car manufacturers are right in their choice of 4300K. It is whiter than halogen, yet very bright for the human eye. Especially older eyes.
6000+K gets to be too blue. This reduces the effective light output. Some may think it is worth the reduced visible light value to be cool. I just want to see where I'm going more than any need to have a blue headlight.
In fact, a slight bright yellow adds to the human eyes ability to see texture. Shooters and skiers use a yellow lens to better see contrast.

It's nice to see some other t4r owners taking the HID plunge! I am a true believer that once you go HID, you'll never go back. I love my 4300k set and actually had fun installing it. Hopefully that install posting helps, whether you have an 06 or the 05 and prior models. Sharp4Runner, your headlights look nice!

Yeah I hear you man. The HIDs are super bright and I can see so much further on the road. Thanks for the compliment though they look good, that projector pattern is soo much better.

RL you will love the kit when it arrives. Super easy to install as it's completely plug and play. The kit comes complete and only takes approximately 30 minutes to install.

Indeed, Steve will take good care of ya with his products. Adjusting the headlight will be very easy (you'll need an 8mm wrench). Just give it a few rotations and you should be fine. I would test the alignment by parking next to a long wall so you can see the cut off line and use that as a good reference point.
Also park behind a sedan and confirm the height of the headlamp rays.
