91 Wheels on 04

Hello, Ive seen alot of people asking about putting diferente wheels from a newer car on there older etc... What about putting wheels of a 1991 4Runner on a 2004? Anybody tried that? If so do you have pics? Do they fit good? My father in law has a set that he can give me, and I was thinking of putting on snow tires on them. Let me know.

I think they are 15's, what I have now are 20's which I really want to get rid of... Why would it hit the brakes?

Your year has bigger brakes, so I'm also guessing that a 15" won't fit. The rim needs enough inner diameter space to clear the rotor and caliper. It can depend on model too. On the third gens, there are some models that came with a bigger front brake package, thus only being able to run a minimum of a 16" (with some 15" exceptions) wheel while others can run a 15" just fine.

15 inch alloy wheels will not fit either 4th gen brakes. some 4th gen have big brakes that require 17 or larger, and some will fit 16.. you will "WILL" hit the caliper with a 15 inch wheel, you can get older 16 inch wheels for agood price, and as long as you do not have the big brakes on your T4R you can run them. (check your door tag, it will give you the factory wheel size) if it says 16" on the tag, you have small brakes, and the older 16s can fit. if it says 17 you have to pull your wheel and mesure your rotor.
