Whew! Seems like almost everyone has been chasing that mileage issue lately -- me included.
I think the best thing to do is make sure everything is properly adjusted and tuned-- spark plugs, dist cap , rotor , plug wires , AFM working smoothly, TPS adjusted and operating properly, Throttle body and intake manifold clean, carbon deposits in the combustion chamber reduced (Seafoamed), fuel injectors clean, tire pressure at optimum values. Don't carry around any 'stuff' in the cargo area that ya don't have to. Carrying weight costs mileage and these vehicles are heavy enough, on their own. 'Winter' fuel is notorious for producing lower MPG. Fuel with Ethanol as an additive produces lower MPG, as well.
I recently changed back to NGK spark plugs, advanced the base timing on my 3.0 to 15* BTDC and now run 89 octane fuel. My around-town mileage went up over 1 MPG - to 14.1. I have yet to take a long trip to see what the highway number is.

Is this on a stock set up, auto/man....size tires?
You should be doing better then 170
I can get 250-300 and thats a auto with 31's.
Keep a good eye on your tires PSI.

Check your Emergency Brake. Sometimes your E-Brake doesnt release all of the way. With your vehicle off in park/gear and the E-brake off, go to the passenger side of the truck, and underneath the passenger door there will we a lever and spring with 3 cables. This is your E-brake mechanism that is infamous for seizing. Pull the lever towards the back of the vehicle: if it moves backwards, theres your issue. Blast it with brakeclean and WD40.
yeah stock setup, with 32" tires, i do have a heavy ass kicker L7 15 in the back of my car... but it doesnt seem to weigh it down much. my ebrake light faintly lights up when im driving sometimes, i think its just a bad wire. maybe my ebrake is really not releasing all the way, im gonna check it out, get new spark plugs too. thanks =)

The float in your brake fluid reservoir is sinking,, that causes the flicker. Just disconnect the wires to the reservoir cap.
