I have a 92 toyota 4runner with 200k miles, the engine starts up fine when the engine is cold but after about 3-4 minutes of letting the engine idle in park or 3-4 minutes of driving it it stalls, when i got to start it back up the engine turns over but doesnt start. AFter letting it sit for a little while it starts back up. Anybody know what this could be?

Thanks!

One idea

It sounds like what is called a vapor lock.

My 92 Landcruiser had a similar problem, only it happened in a different manner. If you ran the truck for a while, then stopped and turned the engine off, like to go to a store, and then tried to start it back up, it would turn over but not start. If you waited around 10 minutes it would start and run fine.

Finally had the vacuum lines replaced and stopped the problem.

Something is stopping the flow of gas to your injectors, then after you wait a while the block dissipates and allows the truck to run fine.

since you can crank it and start it, you have eliminated the starter and fuel pump. Also since it will start after you let it cool down points away from the fuel pump or a blockage.
