'93 4WD Conversion help

Hi folks. I'm having some trouble with my 4Runner that I was hoping someone could help me with. For the past few months, I've been working on converting my '93 2WD 4Runner to 4WD using parts from a wrecked '91. I hit a "brick wall" a few weeks ago, and I haven't been able to locate the parts I need. My factory ECM harness won't hook up to the '91 computer or tranny, so I'm trying to find a harness from a '93 with 4WD. I guess my question is, will this even fix my problem? Has anyone tried the 2WD to 4WD conversion before? Please, will someone help me! Both trucks were the SR5 with the 3.0L v6.

The harness from the '91 won't hook up to my '93 engine.

Does anyone know how I can find out what version engine and transmission I have in both the '91 and '93?

If you have a good Toyota dealer near you you can call and ask. They will have schematics. However, it wont be the easiest search. Good luck.

I've already talked to the Yota shop near here. I was able to given them the VIN from both my truck and the donor truck, and found out that the enginges are the same. The transmissions, obviously, are only different in the fact that one has a transfercase one it, and the other doesn't. They also told me that a wiring harness for any 4Runner 90-95 should work in my truck. That obviously isn't the case, or else I wouldn't even be here talking about it. I think we're going to try to splice the 2 harnesses together and see how it comes out. The only other solution I can see would be to get a t-case and computer from a '93 w/ 4WD.
