My toyota has recently started not wanting to start. Done it about 5 times this week mostly right after driving parking and then getting back in. I have to get out and tap starter to get it ststarted. I was reading about how to fix the 4 cyl ones by adding a relay. Is this the same thing for v6 or am I just going to have to buy a starter.
.

On a side note I just got some 12000k hids installed today and they are awesome!

If you're tapping on the starter to get it to go, it could be all you need to do is yank the starter and clean/replace the contacts in the solenoid. If replacing those contacts doesn't work, get a chunk of heavy wire and the next time the truck won't start, leave the key "On" and use the wire to jump your battery straight to the power stud on the starter. If that starts the truck, it tells you your starter is good and you've got a wiring problem.

Thing is, you already have a relay. You could add another relay like I detail in this thread, but a cleaner solution for you would be to follow RAD4Runner's link in that thread to a writeup on how to rewire your existing relay.
