Hey Guys Ive been thinking about buying some Thorley Headers. Ive only heard good things fabout them. Couple of concerns. A-is the performance worth the price B-how hard of an install are they? C-what size/type of exhaust should I run off of the headers? Any help is greatly appreciated.

This is something I was planning on doing to my '95 as well, so I did some research on it. I ended up swapping out the whole engine instead, so I don't have personal experience to add. If you're set on keeping the 3.0, then headers are the BEST thing you can do for it--once you get a close look at the factory manifolds, this becomes very clear (quite possibly one of the world's most restrictive designs!). Once you have headers on, any other mods have a fighting chance of reaching their full potential. I believe the exhaust should be around 2 1/2", using a Y-pipe into a single, preferably with an aftermarket hi-flow CAT (not much space for duals). Now the bad part--I've read where these are a royal pain to install. One of the sites I looked at actually had a "warning" box on the ad, stating that you need patience to do this mod--basically, it's worth the effort, but it will NOT be fun until you're done. If I remember right, you also need to relocate your T-case cooler for clearance. Best of luck to ya'!

Thanks for the advice. I was planning on keeping the 3.sl0w until it or the tranny died. What engine did you swap in, how hard was it, and where did you buy yours?

My apologies for the delay--I didn't realize you had responded. I swapped in a 350 Chevy V8, just a bit different than the factory engine (LOL). While there is a good bit of aftermarket support for this swap, it's still a bit of a grind, and will try your patience. I used the Yota 5-spd and everything after it (it's been done many times, and the Toyota gear has proven up to the task, as long as you don't get too crazy), but there were a LOT of changes in the engine bay. If you're thinking this might interest you, I can list the sources and parts I used, as well as things to expect for changes outside of what the parts suppliers provide. PM me if you like, or I'll just check back here.
