95 4Runner running weird at low speed/RPM

Hello, about a month ago, my 95 SR5 Limited 4wd V6, started to act kinda funny at low speeds, while driving through town, the Tach would fluctuate about 100 RPM, not a whole lot, and the engine sounded like the tach, was going up and down, and when u come to a dead stop (in drive) it idles at about 500, staying constant, no fluctuation, but when u hit the gas to go, it kinda feels spongy, and feels like a loss of power for that instant, it drives perfectly on the highway at 60. Plugs and Wires replaced recently, oil change recently, ATF change recently, i'm at a loss of what could be causing this! My muffler has a few small holes (i should be getting a new one soon) but i don't think that has anything to do with it. I have put Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner in it with my last fuel up, and I put STP Fuel Injector Cleaner in it a few weeks ago, and nothing has helped!

Mine 91 v6 does almost the same thing. The RPMS and MPH needles "bounce" till about 50mph....there feels to be some loss of power till i get up to speed on the highway. In another thread, i was told that my larger tires could be the problem....especially w/o re-gearing the truck or changing something with the speedometer. Maybe your problem is similar.

I have stock size tires on mine, and it only does it to about 30 MPH, after that it is as smooth as ice (if that makes sense) the only time i feel a loss of power is when i'm taking off from a dead stop

I would check your spark plugs again, maybe you got a bad one, or maybe the gap is off on 1 or more of the plugs. My old car did that and as soon as I changed the plugs it ran like a dream.

Check to see if you got the right firing order

Thats a good idea, come to think of it, i think it started when we replaced the plugs and wires last, so that may have something to do with it. I used Autolite plugs, do u suggest using NGK? I heard a lot of Toyota guys will only use them.

I bought some Seafoam, it has 111000 miles, i bought it at 92,000 and seeing the condition of everything, i think the Previous owner took really crappy care of it. So hopefully that should clear some things up, maybe solve my problem, maybe not, we'll just have to see

Well, the Seafoam worked wonderfully! Its running great idling and from a dead stop, plus it feels like it has a bit more power.
