95 4Runner Self Made Exhaust

Over the weekend I had to drive a round trip to Alburqurque, NM from Grand Junction, CO On my way home, an unfortunate event happened about 45 minutes into a 7-8 hour drive home. The muffler broke off at the damn weld. So I cranked the stereo and drove her on home. I order a few parts offline and decided to weld my own exhaust. I need input on how I did ? I chose a high flow CC and a high performance offroad turbo muffler all Flowmaster (Cause my 2nd Gen 4Runner sounds like a fart cannon with loud exhaust.) It a has nice deep growl with great highway noise. I drive alot so I wanted it to be a little quieter. I maybe need some input on the flowmaster product. My buddy swears by it and convinced me to go that direction, but I was leaning torwards a Raven Muffler Products. Same concept of a high performance offroad muffler. So questions I have a friend that also has a 4runner 2nd gen 92 and he loves the sound of mine. i could sell him mine and weld it on for him and start fresh with mine. So lots of input please !!! Either way I am doing his exhaust so this is of no inconvience to me. Pictures are Enclosed

Nice work...Mabey I can shed some light on the muffler thing, I have been told by one of my suppliers (Baxter Auto Parts) that "someone" who worked for Flowmaster became a little discruntled, and upon leaving the company, decided that the designs should go with him...and upon finding a loophole of some kind in the copyright, further decided to take the design, and build knockoffs.
I have put these on a few cars (v8 mostly) and the quality, construction, sound, everything seems identical...here's the big bang...39 bucks across the board, any size, any configuration, 39 bucks! Flowmasters are nice, don't get me wrong...but they have gotten to the point of being a little spendy for some of them. For less than half the price...you'll only know the difference when you write the check.

what is the muffler style called. is it a glasspack or a high output muffler. I am on the site and I am just a little confused on how to get a loud muffler with alot of flow and a cheap price on there. If you could help I would appreciate it.

Nice welds! When we needed a muffler, I just went with a factory for the ease of installation(and warranty on the part). Would have like to have gone with Borla, but they seemingly don't make an exhaust anymore for these old trucks? Again, nice work.

not too bad man... increase your wire feed speed a bit though.

Borla makes thrm for ours, but they are hellishly expensive..

Nice pics, maybe next time you can re-size them down for the Hi-Res Challenged members of T4R. (The latest version of MS Paint has that feature.) 800x600 would be perfect.

Nice welds. Did you bend the pipes yourself?

As for Borla, some places still have them in stock. I bough mine about 15 years ago from Performance Products and it still sounds great. My only con is the exhaust tip is stained from water dripping off the rear bumper.
