:sadwave: :sadwave: Replaced engine with another 3.0 with low mileage after blowed head gasket! All new hoses, belts, flywheel, water pump, etc. Finally worked out all kinks, got it going! Drove for a few wks, played in lake bottoms for a cal months. Coming from lake one day an it DIED!!!! Pulled it home and replaced ICU(junkyard) an new coil. Ran great!!! A month later riding down road an hit a pothole in road an it started sputtering, went bout a mile and died. Would roll over but would not start. Done the wiggle, giggle test under hood, 10 minutes later it cranked, no problem. Got home, cut it off, won't crank. Next mornin it cranked fine. Drove a few miles to store, would not crank back up!!!! Waited 5-10 min, it cranked back up. Went home and ain't ran since!!!! Trouble shooting consisted of: put another new coil, ICM from ROCK AUTO, distributor off of original motor, STILL NO SPARK! Checked wires, ground, connectors seemed to be all good. Not sure if I have enough ground. Could it be ECM? If so how do I check it? Not good with electrical. Anymore suggestions? Any an all help will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!! Thanks in advance.

Welcome to T4R. !
I'm going to move your post to the 1st/2nd Gen section where you'll get a better response.

First, make sure the connections (ICU) are OK (not corroded, metal snap ring engaged, etc..). Sounds like you might have a couple issues going on. I would first replace the EFI relay (common failure item, $12). Next, you might consider getting out the voltmeter and seeing if you have 12v at the starter. The internal connections have been an issue with these.
There is also a procedure in the manual for retrieving troubles codes. Best of luck with it.

Have you checked the related fuses to be good? Are you getting trouble codes?
I just went through something similar... ended up repairing 5 spots / connections in the harness as well as replacing ECM and all ignition parts.

With the key off... find the diagnostic port under the hood next to the fuse box and install this jumper.
Turn key on without starting engine and count the flashes of the check engine light.
2 flashes then 4 flashes would = code 24, etc...

It sounds like all the times until the latest "Went home and ain't ran since!!!!" were when the engine was warm/hot. That could still be a lot of things, but if it ends up starting again when cold that might give you a little more chance in reproducing it.
