Hi,
Right now Im in the market for a gen 2 T4R so I've been looking around on the forums and have noticed this group to be very helpful. So I figured I'd direct some questions I have out there for people to take in. So far the help has been great.
Anyways, I test drove a 95 4Runner last night and Im not too sure about this one.....
A few things I came across was the guy mentioned that it can slip out of 1st gear sometimes and when I drove it, 5th gear made a slight grinding or rubbing sound only when I pressed down on the accelerator. Now based on those two facts Im thinking the Transmission is in rough shape but I wouldnt mind hearing what you more experienced T4R guys think. The shifter also seems a bit loose and when I press down on the accelerator and the engine revs up the shifter moves, I've experienced this before in older vehicles but it was worse on this 4runner.
Anyways, thanks for reading.
My thinking is that this 4Runner is going to need some transmission work and that I should avoid it.
