96-02 Rough Country 3" suspension lift kit review.

Has anyone installed the new 96-02 4runner Rough Country 3" lift kit? Ive got a 97 4wd 4runner limited and I am wanting to lift. I don't do much off-roading and when I do it is light trail riding. I was thinking of purchasing this lift kit. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS THINK! THANKS!

my shop won't sell rough country. we had a j*&% come to us with a rough country 4" lift that had a broken front coil and both the rear shocks were blown after about 12k miles. we called them on the phone to find out about warranty stuff for the guy and RC basically told us to go screw.

What kind of suspension lift would you guys suggest? Ive seen so many set ups out there and it is overwhelming. I am on a budget but I want a decent 1.5-2 lift. What is the best lift out there?

I'd get 99 tall front springs and 906's for the rear.

Just installed the N2 struts and shocks on Tundra front coils and OME 890 outback. So far so good. The back is nice, but I used a isolator on the front, may take that out to soften the front a wee bit, and put a couple spacers up front instead. All in all, I like it.

I had a rough country lift on my blazer and the shocks were garbage lasted less than 10k miles i would never buy rough country again after that

What is your realistic budget?

I would like to keep it in the 300-400 range. Ill also have to allow about 300 to have it installed. Im also purchasing new tires. Toyo AT2s so that will be close to a grand right there. so Id like to get out with lift and tires for around 1600-1700.

i would start hawking the classifieds on here, yotatech and ttora. i got my rear coils for 80 bucks used. the fronts were a bit more expensive for me but i had it at the time. craigslist will help too. read the lift FAQ again. you can put together a decent lift for what your goal is...

I went ahead and bought it! Rough Country 3" lift installed and toytec diff drop kit. Looks great! Tires go on tomorrow! 255/85/16 Maxxis Bighorns!I will post pics tomorrow!

I've had the Nitro 9000 front shocks from Wheelers for 25K miles with no problems. OME 883 springs, ARB bumper, Warn M8000 winch, and lots of scratches to prove it's been offroad.

I think this is a pretty nice kit for the price. My mechanic had it installed in just a few hours. He said the old shocks were a pain to remove though. The ride with stock tires feels close to factory. I'm sure it'll ride like hell with the Bighorns!

Any more people with comments on this lift? Im in Canada, so it's hard getting parts for decent prices. I see a guy on Kijiji selling this kit locally, debating if I want to go that route.

Rides great. Looks great! Simple. I'll try to get my pics up. I'm running 255/85/16. I'm not sure it would be the best for major wheeling but looks and light wheeling is what this kit is perfect for.

Iveused rough country multiple times when I had jeeps and had good luck. For the price you cant beat them.

Im assuming you have the 3" lift. Did you have to install additional accessories, like diff drop, panhard, misc brackets etc etc?
