So I was out and about wheeling this weekend and for the first time, I broke on the trail.
I was climbing a slick rock waterfall with a small lip at the top. It had rained the day before so everything was still pretty slick.
I reached the lip and gave the gas a little bump like I have the last couple times I was doing this obsticle and ended up lifting the front driver tire in the air, started spinning and came back down on it to the tune of a loud pop followed by clunking whenever I would give it a little gas.
After checking the cv's on the trail, I have determined it to most likely be a broken ring and pinion.
Now that the story is out of the way, here is my question.
According to the door axle code (A04A) and www.brian894x4.com/Gearratiosanddiffs I have a 4.56 gear ratio however after reading a bit, I have come to think that the only 3rd gens that came with a 4.56 were the 4cyl 4x4 elocker trucks. I have a v6 4x4 elocker and from what I have read, I should have the 4.30 ratio.
