I have a '96 4Runner SR5 with all the options that is currently giving me fits. The battery died the other day and when I tried to jump start it the alarm went bonkers. The only key fob I had fell in a river and the guy giving me a jump told me the alarm had never been deactivated. So I found a replacement fob - looks like I have Audiovox's Pursuit Security Systems' PRO94BT2 system and the FCC ID # on the back of the replacement remote is ELVAT5B.
I found a PDF of instructions for this remote and it tells me to move the valet bypass switch on and off multiple times and tells me to look for a dash mounted LED light to flash. In all the 2 years I've been driving this truck I do not once remember a red light on the dash and the only switch I can think of was one on panel down by the pedals that did nothing when I flipped it while my alarm was going off.
I really hope someone else with a little more experience working with cars has had a similar problem and can help me out. Thanks ahead of time.
