97 4-runner

I am about to buy a 97 4-runner. It has 85,000 miles, loaded,sunroof,air,cassette and CD,auto. Back bumper, center piece is rusted out. I drove it for about 5-miles, feels good. Needs tires. Body and paint are good. He wants $6,500, is it worth it?

try to knock off 500, due to body, and tires, and the timing belt needs replaced soon and water pump, they are all big jobs

Seems a little high considering what needs to be done. Timing belt is going to run at least $500 the same can be said for the tires. The bumper is at least $200 from the dealer I think.

Ehh...it's still a '97.

It's a Limited? Kbb does have it listed at $7,200. I doubt they take into account timing belt and other maintence things.

Sounds like a good price to me. But needing new tires and given that it's coming up to the 90,000 mark should be reason enough to knock the price down. Good luck to you. I've got a 97 and it's a great truck.
