97 4runner rear drums question

4wd SR5. Recently replaced the shoes on my rear brakes with a buddy of mine and we each tackled one side(at the same time unfortunately).

Finished the job and now after pulling up on my hand brake a number of times it over tightens the shoes.

The spring that connects to the adjustment lever we may have each put in the wrong place but both of us recall that it was hooked to the hole that we re-installed it to.

I have searched and searched for a picture of where the spring that hooks the adjustment lever hooks to the shoe goes, but can not find a good picture!

Here is what i have now. I think that it needs to be moved the the hole circled in yellow??

Yes. I believe it's supposed to be in the yellow circle.

I have seen that video and the problem is those are different shoes with different hand brake assemblies.

I just did this and mine was at yellow.

Fortunately, I did one side at a time and I actually ran into this same question.

Same here. Yellow is where my spring is as well and I just did my shoes. E brake adjusts the shoes perfectly.
