97 4runner sr5 4x4...I want to shut off the alarm system if possible?

I don't have a remote for the rs3000 vip system, but it has remote start and a remote that is linked to a DEI "valet 561r" box under the dash/ driver side. I just got this truck and the alarm system is driving me crazy! The indicator light on the center console doesn't work as the valet button. I have the box for the toyota security under my drivers seat, as well as another box wired in under the dash on the driver side for the "valet" system on there. Anybody have an idea? I really just want to turn it off completely or take it off the truck.

Thanks for the reply! Have you done this before or know someone who has? The only thing I'm worried about is I currently live in an appt, and if something goes wrong I'll get ticketed. Also, is it the "brain" the one under the driver seat? Thanks again buddy

Yes the VIP system is under the drivers side seat. If you ever want to use it, you can get a brand new after market key fob for about $25, it takes all of about 2 minutes to program it.

If I just disconnect it under the seat, will it just turn the alarm off or will it affect anything else? I have power windows and locks and don't want those affected. Thank you for all of your help!

I myself have a Valet Remote Start system, and I'm not sure where to find the brain? Where under the dash is it? Under the steering column? There seems to be a SERIOUS lack of details about how to install one of these and program it to lock/unlock...

I already have the remote start working (came w/ the vehicle), but I want to program the brain to lock/unlock...

How do I do this?

Yes the VIP system is under the drivers side seat. If you ever want to use it, you can get a brand new after market key fob for about $25, it takes all of about 2 minutes to program it.

can you explain how to program it..? i bought an oem fob for 75 bucks....... i just cant program it
