97-99 overhead console swap

Ok so this is my first write up so don't bash me lol
Things you will need

99-02 overhead console
99-02 mirror now i didnt get this so i had to cut the old one and make it fit.
Crimpers
Tape
A cutting knife or razor blade

Ok so remove the old one. Once u have done that you can install the new mirror. But since I didn't not get it stupid of me. I had to cut the old one to make fit. Install new mirror or your modified one.

Now u can place the new console and mark where u will be cutting out the headliner. Cut away the marked out peace. But be carful don't wanna over cut.

Ok so now for the wiring. You will need to pull down the headliner a little bit. So u can access the relay that you will no longer be needing. I threw that into the trash. No cut that plug off one wire at a time. You will not be needing that plug. Cut the plug from the old switch as well. Not needed ether.
Ok here's what wires go where

Switch side Truck side
Gray----------- Blue /yellow is power for light
Black both-----White/black is ground the 16 or the bigger one if u can't tell
Red-------------White /red power to switch
Green-----------Blue/white send power to the motor*
White------------White send power to motor
Yellow-----------Red limit switch
Blue--------------Red/blue limit switch*
The blue is a constant power and the white/black other ground both of these wires are not used. No sit back and enjoy.

Just did this swap - a few things to add:

1. The location of the sunroof relay is over the passenger sun visor. Disconnect the plug by using a longer screwdriver to release the tension pin and pulling on the whole harness. THIS is the bulk of the wiring on the "truck" side. The old harness to the old control has wires that terminate there. The old harness and the same colored wires from the relay harness won't be used. This freaked me out a bit, but in the end I taped them up so they wouldn't cause any other issues. If you can - cut the plug from the light and snake the light wire back through to your new wiring location.

2. I used 14-16 male+female bullet connectors I found at autozone. They did work with some doubling up on the ends of the wires (folding the copper over). I'm betting you can find 16-18 or 20 sized bullets that would work better than the larger ones I used. I used female on the hot side (truck) and male on the controller side.

3. Looks great now that I'm done. I think it was well worth it.

4. I am looking for LED replacement on the dome lights. Lower heat and no maintenance. When I find out what bulb to use I'll try and remember to share it here.

Hey guys, been reading online in all of the threads and noticed the facTory wires on my 98 are slightly different. I was expecting a white/red wire to splice with my new pigtails blue/red but currently do not see it on my trucks existing harness. I'm left with a white/yellow I believe may be the correct one. I am just looking to confirm.

Secondly, looking to see which ground is best to tie in the ground from the visor light as well. Thanks in advance.
