Went ahead and put over 600 miles on it since the repair engine is running perfect sounds like it was never even taken apart couldn't be happier with that went ahead and used a couple of bottles of purple Power Degreaser the engine carriage in the entire engine bay went ahead and topped it off with some VP fuel and everything is great now it's just time to upgrade the suspension and lighting traded in the smaller light bar getting a larger one that I can add to my roof rack after I remove the front bumper and do a prerunner skid plate.

Slapping you radiator cap on there and we're going to do a transmission fluid flush along with the rear differential fluid flush. Front sway bar bushings are completely gone we have one blown out upper ball joint plus to blown-out lowers and shocks that look like they've been here since they were put on the truck the way they ride it feels like a old shock.

I checked the fuses on the dashboard fuse panel looking for the accessory fuse found it it wasn't blown out but my cigarette lighter does not work still there's no bad wiring so I'm wondering if there's something wrong with the actual plug anybody else have this problem?

Update!

She's been hooked up! For starters we have new parts, and some new issues. First off, we snagged a new rear wing, K&N air filter, did another oil change and we also adjusted the headlights, and trans.

We made a TV cable adjustment, since we had no over drive it felt like I realized it's the cable. Made a quick adjustments BAM shs got a trans I remember from my 2 other 4runners. Upshifts are perfect, added some new fluid as well. Learned the previous owner took the pan off and put the magnet on the outside of the pan! Guy was clueless!

We also did a complete block flush and Radiator flush, and backflow. Runs in the 150-160's but when I asked about a thermostat I bought one brand new truck acting like it's bad was getting hot very quick. Went ahead and removed the brand new one I installed. Everything is perfect. I bled the system and all I know how and I triple checkEd.

Leaking brake fluid in the back wheel Cylinders I assume.....brake pedal is a little inconsistent pressure wise. Other than yah we have a weak fuel pressure so either pump, filter, or injectors

Replaced a old hose, slapped new swaybar bushings on and got a few things left to do until she's perfect and ready.

So wondering what temp thermostat I should done put in here...160? Thoughts? I guess he 180 was to much?

Update!

We took her on the biggest trip yet. We took freeway east to lakeside, then to Ramona. Once there we took a right and went to the very outskirts of San Diego county estates, until the road ended. Took pics but phone elected to delete them for me huh.....

Kickdown cable wasn't right. Went ahead and made another adjustment and now we have what feels like that right shifting just probably goings to back throttle cable off a touch.

Q: what's the best fluid to use in the truck?

I was told to use transmax I always use Castrol but I know they have a few that will work i just want the best option.

Things that I need to fix &/or adjust;

1. Radio Wiring Harness
2. Replacement muffler
3. New heater switching valve
4. New oil cooler coolant line and clamps
5. Fix broken wire next to battery (corner light).
6. Drain & Flush transmission
7. Drain and fill rear axle 80w90
8. Replace all tires
Replace all shocks and bushings
9. Replace all rear brakes

Everything went well just concern with transmission, and shifting. We bogged out badly before getting a upshift once we adjusted TV cable it was much better.

Sorry we don't have pics it's lame I know. Lastly went to junkyard and scored:

BRAND NEW FAN Clutch
New Toyota thermostat
Dash lights
More panel fasteners
Climate control panel face
All BRAND SPANKING NEW Dayco belts

There is a bunch I'm.fogettng but 6es she's coming together!

Latest update,

She got new trans fluid, and new adjustments. Preparing the engine once again to get her passing smog. Just hit junk yard and we had a ton of donor 4runnrrs, all I pretty good shape.

Can't wait to get the seats, and shocks & tire set. We have either a leaking axle tube seals, or leaky wheel cylinders.

Trans needs some love, the fluid that came out was black. So basically a few things so we can keep on going lol.

Lastly indeed to replace dash lights, and shifter light, climate control as well.

Anybody know what size I may nee??

UPDATE!

After weeks of driving her she's still hanging tough, and has already seen over 2500 miles some the engine job. We went ahead and got the last few pieces needed to complete the puzzle.

We disassembled the engine and replaced the engines knock sensor wiring harness. This fixed the check engine light issue so now we can pass smog.

Now were finished with that we went to all Tahoe for a quick trip. Drive up was flawless and return trip too. We were going pretty fast 80mph up Cajon pass and highway 395. No overheating and no surprises.

We just need:

4 Tires
Rear window isn't going down
Install lift spacers
Replace heater core switch
Replace Muffler (locate exhaust leak)
Antenna Mod
Rear interior power and switch array
Replace Driver & Passanger Seats

Gonna hit the junk yard and snag the seats and the muffler plus new rest window stuff. I replaced the rear window switch but it clicks only when pressing up not down...ideas?

Btw the exhaust smell is very very strong in the can and sound is way louder than normal. Definitive answer there.

Today was a good day. Went to LKQ and they had a 40% sale. I was able to get a few things I really needed.

#1 Passenger Side Power Leather Seat $21 (Great Condition)
#2 Passenger Side Mirror $3
#3 Rear Door Lock Actuator $5
#4 (2) BFGoodrich 265/75/16 $20

Installing 1 1/4 lift spacers in front along with new exaust here tomorrow. Have to get a new crossover pipe & behind. She needs a new muffler, I want her quiet.

Went ahead and swapped over the dash lights to a RED led instead of the green. Notice the eyes have less strain on 5+ hour trips. Found the bulbs and twist adapters on Amazon.

We installed the new passenger side seat, rear hatch lock cylinder and door lock actuator, and re set the wiper and got the window to roll up and down.

Installed the newer guage faces in my guage cluster changed the green key ring to red, along with shift and climate control features.

Lastly we went ahead and purchased all brand new heater core lines and valve. We also have a brand new Toyota thermostat, so hopefully everything goes to plan. Without the thermostat we have put over 3000+ miles on this engine assembled solely from junkyard parts. She's still running strong and just cracked 325,500!

Replacing the beat ass bumper here soon, and then I will install all the new fender trim rubbers I have to really get her ready for some minor bondo and a new paint job!

Just got one of the last pieces to the puzzle a whole set of 2015 Tacoma rims and tires all for $50 what a deal! Plus I have a set of brand new Tacoma TRD Pro Bilstein shocks from a brand new truck that I get to pick up tomorrow, super happy we almost finished with all is! All just in time for the Pahrump nugget!

Very very happy right now considering that the total amount of money I spent on all of this stuff wouldn't have even bought you two shocks at full price just goes to show that being resourceful pays off

So I guess I'm just going to have the rims are on my truck right now taking off and sold super tired of those damn chrome rims keeping the two BFG and then the two best tired from all the BFG long trails, then selling the rest of everything else to offset the cost of the next amount of work that we do to the truck we've come a long way with this thing since we first started and it's not going to be much more before she's finished I'll bet none of you guys imagine that a $280 car would end up like this

Very nice man i also recently painted my intake as i replaced all my injectors and i had it all black at first and felt like it was missing something. i wanted to paint the blacked out toyota emblem on the top. i didnt want to have to mask and try to spray another color on. I ended up using nail polish. sounds weird but works. So if you want that trd red style look (or any color you want ) go buy some nail polish haha
