Greetings to all!
I have recently imported a 1998 4Runner from Canada to Portugal, where this model is not commercially available. In Portugal, all imported vehicles are submitted to an inspection by the MV department in order to obtain local plates. During these inspections the engine number and chassis number are verified. I took the 4Runner to the inspection but, being unfamiliar with this vehicle, they were unable to locate these numbers. I ask if anyone on this forum knows where to locate these numbers? Note, they also ordered me to install fog lights and to straighten the exhaust pipe, which in Portugal must be either straight or turned to the left of the vehicle.
Note: the car is from 1998 and after 8 years of Canadian snow, ice and salt it is fairly rusted.
