Hey y'all,
Got a '98 4Runner with 174k miles on it. I bought it as a salvage title (top was replaced), runs like a champ still, but does have a whacky electrical problem every now and again. Sometimes I lock the doors, and then they unlock. Sometimes the blower for the air comes on. The passenger side door normally doesn't allow for the interior light to illuminate, but when I am having these other issues, it will come on with that door opened. Sometimes the security systems beeps repeatedly. These all usually happen either simultaneously, or very near together, and when the car is off. Eventually, the battery goes dead. I jump it, and it might not happen again for several months, then out of the blue, it happens again. Is this a relay sticking? Wires touching when they replaced the top? A bad fuse? Any ideas?
Much appreciate any insight/info.
