98 fuel filter

i just purchased a 1998 4 runner with 4 cylinder and auto trans 2 wheel drive. i cant locate the fuel filter. also how do i find out what my rear axle ratio is. thanks

If it's like the 3.4 V6, the fuel filter is next to the frame underneath the driver's seat.

To check gear ratio..
Put in in "N", block the tires, then jack up one rear tire and mark the top with some whiteout or something. Then mark your driveshaft and have a buddy spin the tire slowly 20 times. Count the driveshaft revolutions while he's spinning the tire.. 39 revos - 3.90s, 41 revos = 4.10s, etc..

He's right, it's different than the 3.4. I read you can take the driver's side tire off and get at it through the wheel well.

thanks is the fuel filter easy to get to if i take the tire off? also on the rear diff ratio. is that the only way to find out the ratio by turning the tire and counting drive shaft rotations? i looked all over the rear diff and did not see any markings.
