98 in Cali

Hello all,

I've been lurking in the shadows of this site for a while now. I'm at the point where I can finnaly start doing things to my 4runner so I created my own account.

I have a 98 2WD automatic SR5. Don't laugh, it was a deal I couldn't refuse! The only things that I have done are to paint it black and to toss a Steel Horse Brush Guard on it along with some inchannel vent visors.

I look forward to meeting many of you and learning a lot.

I'll get some pics up tomorrow my friends.
I just got it back from the shop today. Had the 90k tune up done and by the time they fixed everything it cost 2.5k.

I have to admit that I made a tough choice today... I'm going to put it up for sale in about three months and get myself a newer Sport model. I want a 4x4 so badly!

The current rig is super clean and has no true mods. The only things I have done to it are a new paint job (to include door jams, inside of the hood and the lift gate), vent visors and bushbar.

I'm going to steam clean the rug and take a toothbrush to all the nooks and crannies. Any suggestions as to what else to do before putting it up for sale? It's not bad enough to have it proffesionaly detailed imho. I'll place a plate of homemade cookies in it the night before somebody comes to look at it maybe?

The reason I'm waiting longer to get one is that I'm going to go out on deployment next month and can save up a few k. That'll help buy some goodies for whatever I end up with.
