Another post about a same topic that I posted on earlier. My '98 Limited won't engage into 4-wheel drive when I push the button. I've troubleshooted enough to determine my transfer case actuator is not working.

My actuator has only one (4x4 position) sensor on the actuator housing (please see photo). With my online research I've seen plenty of actuators with two position sensors, but I've seen none like mine with only one. This has given me problems with trying to figure-out the actual part number for my actuator. Does anybody know what the part number for this actuator is??
I think that I've determined that the armature is bad in the motor that turns the actuator mechanism. I'm hoping I can locate a donor unit for parts (good armature) or a direct replacement unit to solve the problem.
Let me know what you have. I know this is not an uncommon problem. Hopefully somebody can help me out!
