i got mine for $1800 with 144k miles, 5 speed, v6, i put 2000 miles on it so far and i cant complain about anything. i love the truck.

Personally I could not agree more-If it's to good to be true well you know how to finish the sentence. I couldn't believe it when I opened the link and had to take a second look! That's my fricken 4Runner I just bought. What are the odds of that even happening. The weird thing is this person said they were from Saint Joseph, Michigan and that's exactly were I live! Maybe I shouldn't even be giving out that info! Just be careful out there because there are all sorts of scams happening! People are just plain desperate for cash!:wtf:

Yes, this seems far too good to be true. Let us know how it goes and beware of any scam. That truck is worth at least $10k if it hasn't been salvaged.

IT's More Than a steal
Wow, i think u might have hit the jackpot of deals. I came across my 96 Limited (4x4,leather,lockers,tow hitch everything) on craigslist. When i saw the price i could not believe it; the guy only wanted 5k for a 96 with only 64k mikes. So i called and asked whats the problem with it right. This guy had the vehicle sitting in his storage for 5 years. i drove 90 mile to where the truck was @ cranked it up and took her 4 a spin. and she ran excellent and everything worked excellent. the only thing the guy did was change the oil and cleaned up the vehicle. since then, i got a new battery, new radiator & thermostat, got, new brakes & rotors and even brought her to the stealership and got the rear end suspension upgrade. many more 2 come. Ur's a deal, its a 98 with 44k that a steal if u don't buy it tell he u know of someone who will get it. lol. nah seriously

I knew it was too good to be true...though I didn't want to believe it. Geez, the kinds of crazy things people do to get money. Hope nobody actually falls for this scam..although I'm probably the idiot that would have fallen for it!

I heard check the timing belt someplace. It is a 6cyl so wouldn't it have a timing chain?

The 6 cyl. engines have a timing belt and the 4 cyl. engines have the timing chain.

Looks like someone was planning to pay your truck a visit with a spare key and sell it to someone else with duplicate papers. The old sell it, steal it back and sell it to someone else trick. You guys should set up a sting with the police. Oh, and you may want to make sure your paperwork is legit...
I am looking for one and I found one on craigslist for $3500. It was a 99 4x4 with 81,000 miles on it. I thought that didn't sound right so I emailed the person. The email I got back was real fishy. Especially when they said they can sell it so cheap because they work on a cruise ship. The final scam clue was when they asked for my full name and address to "continue the transaction".
