Hello. I'm going to order the new ex. manifold from Toyota part# 17141-75080 in the next few days. I got them to lower the price down to $246.00, which I still think is ridiculous but it is what it is. My question, should I order the gaskets from Toyota also, or should I find something like a Fel-Pro or similar? I'm sure Toyota will rape me on the gaskets too, although I didn't get a cost on them yet. I will also need the two doughnut gaskets, one EGR port gasket and one stud which I damaged pretty badly getting it off. What's the best way to go on gaskets? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I checked that out, but that kit would cost about another 150 bucks. Not sure if I can swing that right now. I'll see if I can jip Toyota down on a couple of gaskets if I order them with the manifold. It may be worth a try. All I need is one stud and I'm not sure if I can justify that much money for just a few extra parts. That entire kit does look like a good way to go though. I'll certainly consider it. I have a few days before I have the loot to order the one from Toyota. Thanks for your reply. Oh, and one more thing, it says if I have an auto I have to modify my dipstick tube. Is that a big deal, or no?

I used an OEM gasket when I installed my turbo, and if I recall correctly, it cost under $30 from the dealer, maybe even under $20. I typically order parts from Toyota Parts Zone or Olathe Toyota, as they have low prices and I avoid tax from Camelback since I live in AZ.
I would also go OEM for the donuts; I believe that I did use aftermarket gaskets for the EGR, but I'm not certain; those may have been OEM as well.

just use the toyota gaskets, yes a little more but better quality and durability. the felpro seemed flimsy.

The oem gaskets are multi layered steel and can be RE USED! Mind blowing I know...
If the gasket isn't damaged or cracked just slap her back in there.
That not only comes from my own experience on more than just my own t4r, but comes from my friend who is a master tech at Toyota.
I would replace the two little donuts on the downpipe though.

Our header kits are $305, $315, and $390
If you bought it with the heat shield, its $144 more. Most people opt to leave the heat shield off, making it a mere $69 more. Plus our kit comes with all the gaskets, nuts, and studs.
Btw, although they claim they lowered their price, in actuality they didn't lower it at all. List price is $246.29 for the cast manifold. Just called and verified. If they "lowered" the price, the original price they were quoting you was called "Bump list" where they jack the price up over list price, then "lower" it when people complain about price.
My kit is 10% lower than dealer LIST price (NOT Bump list!!), saving you time AND alot of money.
