99 4runner rear end noise

hey guys, 99 4runner limited, 185k , got a noise from the rear end when i slow down or coast up to a stop sign or red light, only starts to make the noise at about 15mph and continues until i get to a complete stop, when i take off from a dead stop the noise isnt there, only when im off the gas does it appear, the moment i gas it the noise stops, the sound is a cluck cluck cluck cluck, kinda like something hitting something else, i have no idea whats going on, by the way, got new front and rear u joints bout a month ago !

Sounds like drivline is loose. Park on level ground put in neutral crawl under and see if you can shake rear driveline.

Also forgot to mention chok the tires for safety reasons haha since we all know our parking brakes are less then desirable.

From what I have read here and on yota tech, it seems like it could be a loose pinion bearing, sound possible ?

i just had a similar problem myself, my mechanic thought it was the parking brake actuator, wich was rusted to hell and actually stuck engaged, we replaced that and i still had a "wub wub wub" noise.... it was the rear passenger side wheel bearing. no noise anymore! they aren't easy to diagnose as it wasn't loose, but the bearing was definitively toast!

The cluck, cluck , cluck noise is getting ever so worse, only hear it when I'm coming to a stop, usually does it from 20mph and down, never ever heard the noise at all under acceleration , if the noise starts when I'm coming to a stop, as soon as I hit the gas the noise stops. Sounds like the noise is coming from the rear diff, and more ideas ?

The same thing is happeneing to me. Im going to get my tires re-alligned & balanced to see if that helps, because when they're off it can cause that. Like he said though, sounds like it could be a bad bearring.
