99 4runner will not start or jump

I have a 99 SR5 4Runner over 150K. When I try to start up the key turns over, the engine does not start, there are clicks and the power to the clock turns off as I keep the key turned. I tried giving a jump, but the car would still not start. Any ideas what could be wrong? Battery? Starter? Starter contacts?
I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Check battery contacts and the starter contacts. It could be a starter or alternator too. Or simply a bad battery. I'd check the contacts first and go from there.
