There's a headlight buzzer?
Mine doesn't seem to have one. :shrug:
Of course, it does have the cool feature where if you accidentally leave your lights on, as soon as you open the door they shut off, so you can't run your battery down that way. In fact, I've had my lights "on" all night and not had a problem because apparently that safety feature turns off all lights.
My '04 Tacoma was the same way. I love it.

That's odd haven't heard of that before. I know that they (the lights) initially shut off if you put your truck in park, shut it off and open the door with the switch in the on position, but if you happen to turn them to the off position and then back on, they will stay on. It's a kind of a "one time only deal"

Yes, that sounds right.
The auto-off feature only works if you turn the key to the off position and then open the door with the lights still on. If you then manually turn the lights off and then on they will come back on.
IIRC all cars sold in the US have to have a way to turn on some lights even when the key is not in the ignition. I believe this is a required safety feature (so if, for example, you're on the side of the road without the key, you can turn on the lights so others will see you.) The reason I think this is true is because the Subaru that I used to own (a '99 Outback Wagon) had lights that would not work when the key wasn't in the ignition. Because of that, there was an auxiliary light switch on top of the steering column that would turn on the parking lights only, and the key did not have to be in the ignition for that switch to work.
Many Subaru owners were unaware of the switch, especially if they bought their cars second hand and didn't have or didn't read the owners manual (to be fair, it is a small switch and not very easy to see unless you're looking right at it) and sometimes it would accidentally get turned on. Then they'd get very frustrated because their parking lights were on and they couldn't figure out how to turn them off!
Used to get a lot of questions like that on the Subaru boards.
I pulled the fuse cover (in the dash) on my friends 98 Limited and there is a difference in his fuse block and my block. There is a black "box" if you will at the bottom of the where there is a plug in for a 5 or 6 wire harness on the Limited. Mine has the same harness but it plugs into the fuse block without the "black box" in between.
If you turn his lights on without the key in the ignition his buzzer goes off. Mine does not. Mine does not have an auto off either. Maybe the difference between the Limited and the Sr5?? Wife has left the lights on all nite twice already. That she told me about!!
Talked to the service writer today when I went to pick up my 07 5.7 Tundra (still not fixed!) He said there is a switch in the steering column. The switch is on the key tumbler? and it tells the bell to ching a ling if the key is not in the ignition. Need to investigate that one.
