Jc, how do you like your new sub? I also want something that doesn't take too much space but I do want some nice clean bass.

i love it.. its small enough i can pack around it, i velcro strapped it down so it can be moved easily and reallllly reallly improves the stock sub less system. I got it all for 100 bucks.. so the cost of two new speakers

Nice progress man! The truck is looking good! I've always like the 1st Gen roll bar, but fear I'll lose some of the utility of my cargo area..... as I've put furniture in that baby in the past!

As far as the steering rack bushings, do you need to do an alignment after doing these?? I'm doing my tie rod today or tomorrow and then an alignment. I was planning on doing the steering rack bushings at a later date, but if I have to do an alignment after doing so, I'll have to wait till I do the rack.....???

thanks fightman!! okay so ill reply here instead of my inbox. I think it will depend on the condition of your bushings and the condition when it was aligned.. it will affect the alignment when it is being done. How much movement do you have in the rack.. how bad are the bushings? if you are doing them as apart of routine maintenance then you should be fine without aligning afterwards, but if there's tons of wiggle room then you may want to wait. Then again everyone has their opinion so i dont think it will be a big deal but you may see small things like your wheel slightly off centered etc. Some people wont see/notice any difference..

Oh and the roll bar really doesnt take away too much cargo space.. i load mine to the tits and still feel confident i have the space i need. Let me know if you need any additional photos

Got any pics of the back loaded with 4 x 6 TV wall unit?? I've used the back of my truck as a pickup bad, (minus the height), even put a tarp down once and filled it with sand for my kids sand box!

lol but i did put a basketball hoop in it. i suppose you will loose about 4-6 inches of overall width BUT that is only if what you are putting in is going to higher than the wheel wells. otherwise you lose nothing and gain strapping points

sooo today i finally sorted out some wiring gremlins. I re routed all the wires through a firewall to clean it up and got my aux lights and sub working awesome.

I have an inline fuse going to my aux lights switch.. i have a one i know about going to the battery but this one im not sure about.. the reason i mention it is because i destroyed the fuse pulling it through the firewall and cant read what size to go back in.. right now i have an 8amp in there. any idea?

I also got a new muffler installed.. cherrybomb vortex 88101, purs verrrry noice, a little droney when going from 2nd to 3rd in the cabin but overall not overkill or anything crazy loud.

I also had to trim my front flares for my tires, i just took a angle grinder and cut off half an inch of the inner flare and then took the dremmel to it and rounded off the edges, no more terrible rubbing noises

racks great.. you do get what you pay for and its a little flimsy but will hold cargo/spare tire perfectly. I use it for hauling random stuff once every few weeks but i wouldnt mount a hi lift to it... thats what the roll bar is for

Sony deck is okay, its very slow to respond which is its only flaw, if you want the part # let me know, theres lots of youtube videos showing people use it so you get an idea. super easy and clean install tho which is a bonus.

Unfortunately i didnt get any photos of when i got stuck.. reeeeaaal stuck, but luckily a nice dirtbiker came by and saw my distress and helped rock/push me out of the sand, i was high centered on sand ridge.. finally got to use the locker, wowwww what a difference.. also never ever do what i did, always bring your trail gear lol, this was literally the conversation moments before getting to the trails

"oh sh*t i forgot my recovery gear" - my friend "Ahhh dont go back and get it, well be fine today"

annnnd there goes another sway bar link, time to take a hint and disconnect

so i finally got around to mounting the hi lift to the roll bar.. its not the most creative or permanent system but it works. I took a 8" deck bolt and put it through the seatbelt hole, but before i grinded the hole to match the end of the bolt (square) and made the hole slightly smaller then hammered it in so i can remove it if i have to - however it did put some jb weld around it so it will require some slight grinding. The downfall is when the hi lift isnt there the bolt still is.. and its not grade 8 material, but for now it works

Can you go to the manufacturers website, if there is one, and look up the part? You might be able to find out the amp fuse there.

Before I even ordered had my autometer trans. temp. gauge, I went to their website, looked up a pdf on the installation instructions. I went over it throoughly. When I finally received my autometer gauge, there in the packaging were the same instructions I printed out two months prior. So, I had plenty of preparation time. It helped drastically.

Nice pics! I recently bought some longer rear stabilizer bar links from a 2nd Gen... I like the angle alot more than the stockers!

I'm not wheeling mine daily, mainly a baby hauler/camping vehicle for me, so I wanted the on road stability of my front and rear stabilizer bars.

fightman - ya i would agree with you.. i ripped out my rear sway bar and can definitely feel a difference.. i dont necessarily mind it but if its not being flexed every week id keep mine in. Have you gone camping yet?? i cant get anyone to commit. When i drove home from school in nova scotia (in my civic..) i camped in Sarnia before dipping into the states. My family is from sudbury/kitchener/london. I head up to muskoka every summer for a week or two, god i love that place.. no where compares.

OKAY, so new mod that you may have seen being discussed on the main board.. were making IKEA cutting board mudflaps.. no joke, im going to use the jaos as a template, well see how ugly these bad boys turn out :banana:

ALMOST forgot about this thread so ive changed the mud flaps to black (with a little red, and did a few touch ups) i blacked out the front marker lights and smoked the rear tailights as well as front bumper turn signals. I repainted the spoiler and added something unique. I also painted the rims back to a more factory looking silver.

I have to remove the front struts as i put the coil on the highest perch where it should be on the lowest - eek. Other than this my next few mods will be a CB w/ antenna etc and probably on board air. Im also considering getting a front tube bumper..

Lookin sweet - you considering blacking out the rest of the trim? Your thread will give me endless possibilities for diff options for mine. Nice to see the change with stock rims for example. I don't have the basket rack on mine currently, but it is pretty twinsy to yours otherwise.

You've got family in Sudbury??!! You definitely have to drop me a line if you come to town! I'm lonely up here in the North.... no 4Runner buddies to hang with around here! lol! All Jeepers, and Ford/Chevy guys with 2" D!ck lifts! lol!

I've got a new favorite line for those Ford/Chevy guys.... "What size lift kit do you want? 6" ****, 5" ****, 4" ****, or vasectomy?" HA HA HA!
